In December 1995, Kaiser Permanente-Hawaii was the first
healthcare provider in the state to earn a full three-year
accreditation from the National Committee for Quality
Assurance (NCQA) www.ncqa.org.
An independent, non-profit organization located in Washington,
D.C., NCQA leads the nation in improving quality of
care in the managed care industry. Its accreditation
process measures how well a health plan manages all
parts of its delivery system.
To date, Kaiser Permanente-Hawaii continues to receive
full three-year accreditations -- with "Excellent"
ratings for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid groups.
