Kaiser Permanente Fremont Medical Center
Opened on September 23, 2002, the medical center offers the latest medical technology, a 24-hour emergency department, a 10-bed intensive care unit, high-tech operating rooms, and 96 medical-surgical beds. The hospital offers a variety of surgical services, including head and neck, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, and advanced eye surgery. The medical center has approximately 80 physicians and 380 support staff to serve the 89,000 health plan members throughout the Fremont area, and is a part of the Greater Southern Alameda Area that includes the Hayward Medical Center and the Union City Medical Offices.
The design of the Fremont Medical Center complex offers a park-like and serene atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff. In addition to providing high-quality medical care, our physicians enjoy a practice that is conveniently located to schools, affordable housing, diverse communities, and an abundance of recreational activities. The majority of our physicians are board-certified in their medical specialty and many hold academic appointments at the University of California, San Francisco and Stanford University.
Kaiser Permanente is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our members and the communities that we serve. Kaiser Permanente awards community service grants, donates surplus equipment, provides volunteer services and medical expertise, and collaborates with numerous community organizations. The Fremont Medical Center has partnerships with many local non-profit organizations who share their commitment to the well-being of our diverse community population, such as the Project Eden Lambda Youth Group, Ohlone College Foundation, LIFE ElderCare, Inc., Shelter Against Violent Environments, and the Tri-City Health Center. The award-winning Educational Theatre Program sponsored by Kaiser Permanente offers free school performances to address the issues our youth face in today's environment.
