Kaiser Permanente (KP) is an organization with a unique integrated structure among three entities:
- Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (the insurer)
- Kaiser Permanente Hospitals
- Northwest Permanente Medical Group (NWP)
Our integrated structure supports our mission and vision to provide high-quality, affordable, caring and convenient health care experiences for our members and the communities we serve. For over 65 years, Kaiser Permanente Northwest has been delivering high-quality, innovative health care provided as a prepaid group practice in Oregon and Southwest Washington. We are recognized leaders in clinical specialties, informatics, teaching and research.
With more than 1000 physicians and clinicians, we have sub-specialists in virtually every area of medical and surgical practice. Our integrated health care model, chronic disease management programs, electronic medical record system (Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect®), and our kp.org website also support our clinical excellence, service and innovation.
NWP prides itself on attracting outstanding physicians and offers physicians the opportunity to have sustained, fulfilling careers in their practices and enjoy the benefits of a large, stable medical group. Physicians also have opportunities to broaden their skills, participate in the governance of our medical group and take on clinical or administrative roles.
The answer to addressing the health insurance crises is addressing the health crises. We’re not going to change health care in America until we change the health of America, and as an organization committed to prevention, no one is better equipped to tackle this challenge than Kaiser Permanente. Our focus is on the future of medicine as we continue to value the time-honored traditions of professionalism and a strong commitment to our self-governed group practice. Most of all, we hold an abiding love for the practice of medicine and the care of patients.
We welcome your interest in Permanente Medicine!
