OPMG physicians have historically been compensated on a salaried basis, with each specialty having its own market-competitive salary schedule. Physicians would start on a salary level determined by their number of years of post-graduate practice experience, and then increase to the next level of their specialty scale at each anniversary date. Although most departments are still compensated in this fashion, we are implementing a performance-based compensation system (PBC) that will be unique for each department. Under the PBC model, a physician’s income will be made up of a combination of base salary, a service component, and a productivity component based on work relative value units (RVUs). Shareholders will receive an additional component.
