Business Travel Accident Insurance
All physicians, on their date of hire, are covered through Business
Travel Accident insurance. This insurance provides accidental death
and dismemberment benefits when traveling on SCPMG business for up
to four times Base Annual Compensation to a maximum of $250,000. The
minimum insurance benefit is $100,000. Business Travel Accident insurance
does not cover any travel to the regular work facility or what is
considered normal commuting.
If a covered accident results in death or serious accidental injury,
the physician's beneficiary(ies) will receive all or part of the
plan's benefit, depending on the extent of the injury(ies). The
loss must be directly related to the accidental injury and must
occur within 365 days after the accident.
Premiums for this coverage are paid by SCPMG.
